Frequently Asked Questions
Can you improve a yard without doing a full landscape overhaul?
Definitely, and this is the core of our business.
Not every project needs to be a full redo. Sometimes, a few key changes like adding a patio, updating garden beds, or fixing problem areas can make a big difference.
We’re happy to work with what you already have and improve it where it matters most, with your budget in mind.
How much does landscaping cost in North Vancouver?
It varies quite a bit depending on the scope of work.
A smaller project like a garden cleanup or new planting bed might run a few hundred dollars, while a full yard with hardscaping, drainage, and planting can be significantly more.
We give free estimates and try to be upfront about costs before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
Can you design a landscape that is easier to maintain?
Yes, as a lot of people are looking to cut down on maintenance.
We can simplify things by reducing lawn space, using the right plants, and setting things up so they don’t need constant attention.
We also install microclover and other grass alternatives that are drought-resistant, chafer beetle-resistant, and pet-friendly, more and more as clients look to reduce maintenance.
Can you help make a sloped yard more usable?
Absolutely, this is something we do regularly, as North Vancouver has many hills and slopes.
We build retaining walls, steps, or terraced levels to create flat, usable areas. The goal is to make the space feel more functional while still looking natural and fitting the property.
Do you build patios, stonework, and retaining walls?
We do. Patios, walkways, stonework, and retaining walls are all custom-built depending on the space and the look you’re going for.
We install flagstone and step stone paths, Allan block and natural stone retaining walls, and a variety of patios and fences. We also make sure everything is built properly for drainage and long-term durability, especially with the amount of rain we get here.
Do you help with drainage issues as part of a landscaping project?
Yes, always. A lot of yard issues come back to drainage, especially on the North Shore; we essentially live in a rainforest.
We’ll look at grading, where the water is going, and put in the right solutions. These include French drains, drainage piping, seepage pits, succulent plantings, and other options.
Do I need a permit for certain landscaping or retaining wall work in North Vancouver?
Sometimes. It depends on the project; retaining walls over a certain height, drainage work, and a few other situations typically require one.
We’re familiar with the local North Vancouver requirements and can let you know early on whether a permit is needed and help guide you through the process.
